Digital Diamond Baseball is a computerized baseball simulator that allows gamers to play individual games, series, or entire seasons, using players from any baseball season in history.  The game gives users the ability to import player statistics from 1871 through present day (yes, even real time stats!) using freely available baseball references.  And there is no limit to the number of free libraries that can be created. In addition, there is a growing collection of free libraries created by the Digital Diamond Baseball community that can be easily downloaded and installed.

The most exciting feature provided by Digital Diamond Baseball is ability to import up-to-the-minute statistics from the current baseball season, allowing gamers to simulate baseball games using the most current teams and statistics.  Digital Diamond Baseball is the only computer-based baseball simulator that provides this feature at no additional cost.

Digital Diamond Baseball provides a long list of features that keep the game dynamic and bring endless enjoyment to the gamer.  To learn about all of the features, check out the online user manual.  The following is a partial list of features that are included in the game at no additional cost:

• Create and maintain a player library based on up-to-the-minute statistics, allowing you to follow a current season as it unfolds!
• Easily generate player libraries using player statistics from any season in history and freely share these libraries with other gamers.
• Enjoy full control over a wide variety of parameters that control how the game engine works, including team profiles that allow you to specify lineups, starting rotations, reliever usage, and manager tendencies.
• Customize the game with your own ballpark images and a set of built-in color themes.
• Create a draft using the players in a library and then draft one or more teams while the computer drafts the rest!

Along with the features listed above, Digital Diamond Baseball runs on multiple platforms, including Windows, Mac OS, and Linux.  In addition, the database format used to store player libraries is open, which means that gamers with some programming talent can write custom utilities and share them with the Digital Diamond Baseball community.  Finally, we believe that our users should have a say in the direction of the software.  To that end, we ask our user community to vote on the features that they would most like to see incorporated into the game.
